Local, accountable, verifiable.
A one-person consultancy based in Avalon Beach on Sydney's Northern Beaches. The website you're reading was built and is maintained by the person who'll audit yours.
Why this exists
Most small business websites in Australia have a host who does nothing. The site was built once, by someone, for a project price. Whoever built it moved on. The hosting account renews automatically. The plugins stop updating. The privacy policy never appears. Three years later the site is silently broken in a dozen ways nobody notices until something fails publicly.
Most small-business owners don't have a way to evaluate this. Their web developer says everything's fine. Their accountant doesn't know to ask. Their lawyer only finds out when there's already a complaint.
SDG Services exists to do for websites what an annual financial audit does for accounts. An independent, evidence-led look from someone whose job is specifically to find what's wrong — followed, if you want, by the ongoing care that stops it happening again.
Who runs this
Scott Gilbert. Based in Avalon Beach, NSW 2107. Twenty-plus years in technology — most recently in IT recruitment and sales, with hands-on technical work before that. SDG Services has been operating in adjacent areas (recruitment, lead generation) since [year]; the website-audit-and-care business line was formalised in 2026 after a series of one-off requests for the same kind of work made it clear there was a service-shaped hole in the market.
I'm the only person who'll work on your site. No offshoring. No ticket queues. When you commission an audit, I read your site myself, write the findings myself, and call you if anything's ambiguous. If you engage ongoing care, you have my mobile number.
That's the trade-off of a one-person consultancy: I won't ever have the bandwidth of a big agency, but you'll always be talking to the person who actually does the work.
Where I sit
Avalon Beach, postcode 2107, Northern Beaches LGA. The audit pipeline I've built is geographically agnostic — I'll audit a Perth dental practice as readily as one in Newport — but the core customer base is Northern Beaches small business. I can walk into many of my customers' premises.
I think that matters. The reason a small business owner trusts their accountant or their lawyer or their plumber isn't usually "best in the world" — it's "I've met them, they're local, they're accountable." Web work has drifted away from that and the result is that nobody's looking after most websites. I'm trying to drift it back.
How I work
Everything is sourced. Every finding in every audit traces back to a named primary source — a statute, a published report, a standard. I don't say "industry research suggests" without naming the industry, the publication, and the year.
Everything is reproducible. The technical detail of every test we run is documented in our public methodology. If a finding doesn't reproduce on your site, I want to know.
Everything is observational. We never attempt unauthorised access, never test credentials, never submit forms or actions. The audit consumes only what your servers willingly return to any visitor. The full list of seven things we explicitly don't claim is on the methodology page.
